| Amazon launches Online Shopping Website Junglee.com for Indian Market |
World’s biggest online retailer Amazon has a new place to cash upon. With the third largest e-commerce market, after US and China, India has become the latest target of the online marketing genius Amazon.com.
Amazon.com, an online shopping giant, launches a new online shopping service for Indian consumers offering over 12 million products from both local and international retailers. Christened as Junglee.com, the website delivers advertising service of products showcasing various products and their prices, as listed on other e-commerce websites in India.
Unlike other e-commerce websites, Junglee.com does not sell the products directly. Rather, it directs shoppers to the sellers’ website exhibiting their customer service contact details and physical store locations to facilitate direct purchase from sellers.
This offspring of Amazon claims to be providing its customers with a single online platform with options from 14,000 brands including Homeshop18, Hidesign, Fabindia, Reebok, Bata India, Gitanjali, Dabur, Microsoft India Store, and Amazon.com.
As per reports, the site would encompass about 25 product categories including mobile phones, books, cameras, toys and games, baby products, music, movies and TV, clothing, jewellery, etc. With over 100 million internet users in India, Junglee.com certainly has immense scope for growth among other rampant online shopping websites.
